Sunday morning

~
Have you ever had one of those days that started out perfectly pleasant? You know that type of day that begins with maybe an incredible morning run or catching up with an old friend over bottom-less mimosas; YUM! Or maybe for you it might simply be reading your morning paper with a cup of coffee, while sitting in the sun. Ahh-good times!

Well, I had one of those this past Sunday. I can’t really recall the last time I woke up to a kitchen smelling like a bakery. If I’m correct the last time was probably when my father made his famous French toast. Famous for stomach issues later in the day only because he would neglect to fully cook the middle. But he was so proud to make these for me and I was so proud to have him as my father. But, on this particular Sunday my day started out with Blissful Blueberry Pancakes, also known as BBP's. OH YEAH!!! Just look at these pancakes. Oh goodness no, I certainly did not make them myself, but I did make them happen!!!!!

These pancakes are seriously on a whole new level. Off the hook if you will. And I am not talking about just opening up a box of whatever pre-packaged mix you might already have sitting in your kitchen pantry -adding a cup of water, an egg, some oil and TA-DA. Nope, these pancakes were out of this world and made with lots and lots of love!

To protect the innocent, I will refrain from using the person's full name that made these magic-filled morsels of love; instead he will forever be known to you as J.D.

J.D. is a chef. And a great one at that. He wasn't always a chef however, he has come a long way and he has JUST begun. He impresses me all the time, with his know-how's and what-what's around the kitchen. I’m always saying ‘wow...I had no idea that you could make [insert name of bland ingredient] taste so good’ He seems to just whip up any type of cuisine I want.
Most of the time, he just surprises me. Again, to protect the innocent I won’t go into great detail about him. In time perhaps, but for now you will get what I dish-out (HA! no pun intended).

J.D. is not super crazy about this whole blog idea. In fact to be perfectly honest he straight turned up his nose. He just cannot be bothered. He thinks it is silly, I on the other hand think it is a perfectly smart scrappy plan.

When I mentioned this brilliant plan to him, naturally he asked: 'Why on earth would you want to do that. Who will read this so-called blog, and further who would be interested in things you find fascinating and pictures of the food I create?' Hmmmm, I see your point J.D. Simply, I responded with 'why would I NOT what to blog and hop on the blogging roller coaster, shessh. I mean, it is SO obvious WHY I must make this happen'. So I have!

This is the way our conversation went in my head. I am certain he looked at me like I was crazy, per usual and said something like 'cool' or 'get down with the get down' which mind you is a saying J.D. uses all the time to really force home any issue. And a saying I'm still trying to figure out. But I digress, anyway in my heart I strongly feel that in time J.D. will come around and this blog will be all about getting down with the get down. Will it? Maybe, who knows? However in the mean time I will blog about everything I love and J.D. will simply continue to dice, and mix and create a amuse-bouche or something spectacular.

P.S. let me know if you want the recipe for the BBP’s. I promise you will not be disappointed!!
